About Us

Alaska! The Last Frontier! The territory of Alaska, 586,412 sq. miles, was purchased for 57.2 million dollars (about 2 cents per acre) in 1867 by U.S. Secratary of State William Seward, and became the 49th state in 1959. Alaska is bigger than Texas, California, and Montana combined, and has 17 of the 20 highest mountains in North America, with Denali being the tallest at 20,310 feet. This amazing state has 47,300 miles of shoreline, about 100,000 glaciers, and contains America's largest national forest, the 16.8 million acre Tongass National Forest. Wildlife is abundant with over 30,000 brown bears, 175,000 moose, 9 different types of whales, and over 1 billion pounds of fish harvested each year. Alaska is truly The Last Frontier!
